My guess on the tops of the cuppycakes would be rolled fondant that was embossed??? And the tops look like upside-down peanut butter cups but I have never seen any so little (basing size on a "normal" cuppycake.)Bottom line, I think they are great.
And don't blame you for doubling up on the pics of the treasure map cake. I think that was way cool!!!!

YES! It's rolled fondant that was embossed with one of those clear stamps that you can get at any craft store.
The tops are also peanut butter cups that I found at Central Market in the baking aisle. I knew they made them in teeny-tiny but had never actually found them anywhere. I thought they might be a myth until I happened upon them the other day!
How did you make the swirly patterns on the tops of the cupcakes? It's really pretty.
